Hi Lisa! I wanted to thank you for using my poem “On the Occasion of 50 Years of Poems” as an “inspiration” for your latest Zingara prompt! Fun fact: “On the Occasion…” eventually became “Elegy” and was the final/anchor poem in my first chapbook, Clerk of the Dead. I very much appreciate the opportunity you gave this little poem to be introduced to the world for the first time. It has a lasting place in my book because of your kindness in accepting it. You’ve introduced me to a lot of new poets this month. It’s good to read their words as I struggle to put down what I feel. I will miss your daily poetry prompts /posts but hope you keep blogging. You helped me get scribbling in a notebook again. All good. So many times I have a photograph that goes along with your prompt- an apple, an attic, an ending. Kudos for your Zingara Poetry project.
