“I just
Brought you
Chocolate,
So we can start from
There.”
The word
Itself
Was intoxicating –
‘chocolate,’
Hung on my lips before I
Said it.
Tasting it,
And letting the idea
Seep into my mind
In some eternal moment.
But the idea
Should not be dormant,
Alone –
And so it will be joined
To a thing not untoward –
To what I bring to you.
